"I like to keep physically active," says DJ/money broker Owens Sun when asked how he unwinds and manages to keep his D2N lifestyle. "I exercise at least three to four times a week," he explains. "My jobs by nature, both brokering and spinning, require a great amount of energy. Regular exercise ensures that I'm upbeat, endorphins and all that." Aside from going to the gym, Owens lists playing sports like soccer, basketball and badminton as favorite activities. "Oh and I like to party," he says, casually like an afterthought.

"Everyone knows about stock brokers or real estate brokers, money brokering is basically the same," he explains. And no less hectic!

"I have to be at work at 8:45, so I'm up at about 8:00 or 8:15," he says, "normal morning routine I guess, then I rush off to the office." The financial markets open at 9:00 and Owens is in the mad rush, keeping busy up until about lunch. If he's not at a client lunch or a desk meeting, he uses the extra time afforded by their lengthy break researching on new tracks to incorporate into his music. "Market opens again at 2:30," he goes on, "so work, work, work again until 4:00"

To stretch his days and maximize his work hours "demanding major people skills and a lot of energy," he adds.

On weekends, Owens hits the scene and delivers his mix of electronic dance music for the crowd at popular club Embassy. A DJ for the past seven years, he got into it when he was working as a music buyer for Tower Records. "That job got me interested in spinning," he relates. "The exposure to different kinds of music has definitely influenced the kinds of tracks I choose to play now." Whether it be closing a business deal or making sure that no one stops moving on the floor of Embassy, Owens gives it his all. one job demands the same amount of intensity and dedication as the other. Both demand serious attention and respect.

Just like everyone who lives the D2N lifestyle, Owens' life is punctuated by a respectable amount of downtime. Whether that means having a couple of drinks at various bars with friends or hanging out at the coolest night spots, "I enjoy the nightlife," he explains, "I wouldn't be a DJ if I didn't." He adds, "I'm usually out three times a week, including weekends when I spin."

Given his D2N lifestyle, does he ever rest? "Not enough," says Owens, admitting he does wonder about burning out.

But he's not complaining.

Fast-paced as his life is, he wouldn't want it any other way. This is one guy who chooses to live his life to a driving beat. After all, that's what the D2N lifestyle is all about.
